January 2008

Wow,had planned to get right on here after the New Year started & keep updated & just be organized. What world was I living in?! Here it is the 3oth & this is the first I have gotten on here. Plus if you could see our house you would wonder what disaster has hit it. Great intentions I have so many. Maybe I should just do as I heard someone else does, just take the entire month of January for recovery from holidays & previous year then start totally fresh in February. Does sound more feasible to me especially at this point of time. Plus I have taken myself off some of my medications as got tired of living in a "fog" 7 my girls agreed I am overmedicated-not a pleasant thought. So after almost 10 years with my present physician, I have decided is time for a total change. Come Tuesday the 5th I will be starting with a new doctor in hopes she will level with me & get me on the right path, especially with this diabetes & all else. Steff & Rob surprized me Monday when I talked to them-they were due home the 31st,but said they would be home that day. So I got to pick them & my 2 granddoggies up at Geneva Truck Stop, then spend time visiting & catching up at their place. That gave me this week o do things, & I had a huge list-WELL,it is Wednesday & need I say NONE of that list has even been started? Plus Saturday I will be home instead of spending the day with Jessica(will miss her alot but maybe the break will do me good). Our weather has been interesting-nsow last week then yesterday reached 52 degrees & by early today was windy & much cooler-AH,NE Ohio in Winter! But we have been spoiled so far by mild temps & such. Am going to try to get some pix on here too,Mel had problems with his van so was using my Jeep ,then he was able to trade the van in on a 2001 Hunter Green(I call Army green)Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo-so we are a 2 Jeep familie now but both have 4 wheel drive so we are set.

Midway Between Christmas & New Years

Again I have really lost almost a month& don't know where & it can't be retrieved,so I go on from here. Hope Christmas was a good time for everyone. Ours was very different, but all the girls and families were home & that is what counts! We celebrated twice-the 23rd we went for a very good meal at Dad & Doris' then had opening of gifts. They were surprized with a bowling game which was assembled with group effort then the fun began. I even took a few turns but ended up throwing left handed & it worked quite well. Christmas Eve was a busy day as Steff & Rob had a quick run to W. Va,but made it back home in time, plus everyone else was scrambling to other familie events. Then we gathered at Keith,Lisa & Jessica's home for a really delicious & filling ham dinner. Later we had too many choices of desserts, one being a Dairy Queen cake to celebrate Amy's birthday which is on Christmas Day. The fun part was opening gifts, especially Jessica. Since she seems to have a natural talent for music, she was given a keyboard & drumset(to Keith's dismay) & you should have heard her,she has the motions & expressions down right to the "Thank You,Thank You" at the end. Need I say there were quite a few tired people on Christmas but for once,Mel & I got to stay home & be lazy & enjoy the quiet. Now we are trying to catch up on somethings before he returns to work the 2nd of January after 11 days off,and prepare to cheer out 2007 & welcome 2008 right here at home where it is quiet & safe. May all of you have a very good New Year. I will try to post some pix of some of the good times.
